Here, halfway of my route the time has come for me to say the things I love are elsewhere I had not meant to come this way
The lyrics of this song were written by one of the most important Greek poets, Odisseas Elitis, who was also bestowed with the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1979.
Το parapono (The Complaint)
Poem: Odisseas Elitis
Music: Dimitris Papadimitriou
Here, halfway of my route
the time has come for me to say
the things I love are elsewhere
I had not meant to come this way
In truth, in lies
I speak and I confess
Like I was somebody else, not me
I walked through life.
Now matter how cautious one may be.
Now matter how much he runs after his aims.
It is always, always too late
for there is not a second life.
